Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters
Welcome to CASLI
The Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters is a non-profit, professional association for interpreters whose working languages include a sign language. CASLI was established in 1979 and has several Affiliate Chapters across the country. CASLI is the only certifying body for ASL-English interpreters in Canada through the means of our Canadian Evaluation System. Among a variety of services, we offer a Professional Conduct Review Process to maintain quality and accountability to the field of interpreting.
The Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters and its members uphold the highest standards of professional integrity, competence, and ethics.

Please note: CASLI was formerly the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada (AVLIC). Some of the documentation on this website still have the AVLIC name on them but are in process of being updated. As we continue to refresh and upgrade our website and documentation, pursuant to motion NF18G-19, we will ensure the name change is adhered to, and reflected by, all of our documentation.
